Today, human-made mass (concrete, bricks, aggregates, metal, asphalt) exceed the weight of all biomass (plants, animals, fungi, viruses and bacteria) on Earth. This beautiful infographic shows the composition of all man-made materials and the rate at which they are produced.

Currently, we add 30Gt of mass per year, in other words: we produce our own weight in material every week!

It also shows that the mass of plastic (8Gt) that we have made is greater than the total mass of all land and sea animals combined (4Gt).
